Contents/Summary

Summary
In 1992, Pakrac, Croatia, as the Serbo-Croatian civil war was in progress, a Croatian soldier, Ivan Hiti, received a command to burn down the oldest and largest Serbian Orthodox Church library in Croatia. Instead of destroying it, Hiti organised the books to be transferred to Zagreb. When he returned to his unit, he was dishonourably discharged for having disobeyed the orders given to him, was laid off, and has never served in a public office since. The film visits Ivan Hiti 20 years after the war.
