Contents/Summary

Summary
Lovér - the folk counterpart of King Lear - is the proud father of three beautiful girls and he is an excellent storyteller. However, due to the relocation of the gypsy settlement, his life is taking a tragic turn. In a helpless rage, he stabs an official who wants to get people to move. Lovér refuses to do so, preferring to whitewash his house before the bulldozer demolishes it and distributes the money he received from the state to his daughters. However, this is conditional on the girls testifying in front of the village of their love, devotion and gratitude for their father. But Sarolta, the favorite, disobeys that expectation.
