Contents/Summary

Summary
The "Hell’s Heart” is a Docfiction shot in war zone in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Marcello, a Belgian doctor working for an international NGO, returns to the Congo 15 years after his first mission which was carried out in the exact same place, Kivu. 15 years of missions in the most brutal places on the planet have deeply disturbed him and now, returning to the site of his first mission, has made a painful personal crisis break out. Questions, doubts and torments are bubbling up inside him about the choices he has made about his life within the world of humanitarian aid. He starts to doubt the effectiveness of humanitarian work, the rules and regulations that have always governed his life as a voluntary medic. These doubts and torments increase to such an extent that he begins to wonder if he has taken the right path, the only feasible one. And to make a difficult decision.
