Summary
"Bride Burning," a form of dowry death, is practiced in countries such as Bangladesh, India, Pakistan. It as an act of domestic violence that occurs when a bride's family does not or is not able to pay additional dowry to the spouse. This murderous act accounts for nearly 2,500 deaths in India per year and even more that are labelled as accidental house fires. This films follows the efforts of women who have set up "women courts" to fight against the violence and injustice they are faced with.
