- Tewolde Redda is a famous Eritrean singer and a former freedom fighter currently living in the Netherlands. 'Shigey Habuni' (Give me my flame) was his most famous song. Why doesn't he sing it anymore? The song lives on in the hearts of all Eritreans around the world. It became a symbol of the long, harsh fight against the Ethiopian occupation. Nowadays Eritrea is an independent country, but the writer and singer of this song, Tewolde Redda, seems to be forgotten: alone with his memories, he lives in exile, refusing to sing his famous song again.
