Summary
The village of Beloiannisz, Hungary was built in 1950 to house Greek political refugees arriving after the defeat of the Democratic Army. Sixty years later, the village is a shadow of itself. The film focuses on a resident named Thomas who goes to Ivansca train station in hopes that a woman named Rosa will arrive even though it has been decades since they’ve met. For others the train station represents their desire to return home. The residents of this village have experienced some of the shocking events of modern history including the merciless bombings in Grammos ,Greece in 48’-49’, the Hungarian uprising of 1956, the dictatorship of 1967 in Greece and the amnesty of 1981, and the political transition in Hungary in 1989.
