- In Stalin's Soviet Union political opponents were sent to labor camps scattered on the borders of the country. In 1949 Sofia was taken to Magadan camp in the Kolyma region. Decades later she recalls the horrors of the camp and reflects upon the importance of remembrance and the passing on of memories to the new generations.
