- Summary
- A village comedy set in the mid-1930s. Demobilized soldier Klim Iarko returns from the Far East to a Ukrainian kolkhoz, where his love Mariana Bazhan lives. By the time he gets back Mariana has become a famous tractor driver and has many admirers. Trying to get rid of them, she pretends to have a relationship with the athlete Nazar. After a series of comic misunderstandings, Klim wins the sympathies of the kolkhoz as well as Mariana's love.
