The black and white prints of RFE/RL were donated to OSA by the Hoover Institute, California in year 2015. The images are duplicates of those held at Hoover. The originals, and most probably the negatives are with the donor as well. OSA only received the paper prints with captions, and digitized the entire collection in year 2018.

Munich -- Mr. Gene Pell, President, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, discussing East European and Soviet news agency copy with Central News Editor Chuck Lambeth. The Central News Department receives some two million words a day from all major Western news agencies, from tis own bureaus in major world capitals, from Soviet, Baltic and East European news agencies and other media. It boils this huge inflow down into about 150,000 words daily, moved 24 hours a day to the 22 different radio stations under RFE/RL roof.
