Sister Carmel Wauchope, a sister of the Good Samaritans resides in the outback town of Whyalla, Australia, not far from the former Baxter detention centre. She is no longer required to wear a habit (specific nun clothing) however, out of passion and conviction, she replaced her former religious clothes with a new form of commitment – fight to help the plight of refugees who have been detained in the detention centre and heal their ongoing psychological damage and trauma suffered once they are released. The film provides a fascinating profile of an ordinary religious sister with extraordinary compassion for some of the most marginalized people in Australian society – the refugees and asylum seekers - and shows in intimacy a world seldom seen.
