Dédé Le Meut has featured in two of Christian Rouaud's previous films, but in 'With Dédé' he takes on the main role. Born in Brittany, he divides his time between collecting and transmitting the oral culture of the Morbihan, an area in Brittany, by meeting with those who still possess it. He records their knowledge and stories, and displays it for the public. He is also a virtuoso of the bombard, deeply imbued with Breton tradition. He frequently plays the instrument in fest-noz (festivals), churches and concert halls. A tall man with arms that in one movement knock over musical scores and glasses of beer, he strides through the movie, banging into obstacles in his way and apologizing by saying 'hop là'.
