a| This documentary retraces ten years of history of the fight against AIDS in South Africa. In 1999, Thabo Mbeki became president of South Africa. From 1999 to 2010, more than two million people will die of AIDS in South Africa. This, despite the existence of active antiretroviral therapy, called HAART. During these years, the government's support for negative theories of AIDS, combined with the high price of these vital drugs, did not allow the poorest to have access to the treatments they needed.
