Summary
Based on a novel by Konstantin Simonov. War journalist Lopatin goes to Tashkent to visit the family of his friend who was killed at the front. He walks on streets that hgave never experienced a bombardment, visits an evacuated film studio, celebrates New Year (1943) with his civilian friends, starts a brief relationship, and lives twenty days without the war.
