Summary

In 1980s the YPA is reorganized. The territorial defense system is dismantled. Serbia prepares for war. Top army officers see Milosevic as the “only champion” of the SFRY and thus of the YPA's interests. The YPA distances itself from other Yugoslav republics, turns into a Serbian army and plays a crucial role in the dissolution of ex-Yugoslavia.
