- In a personal quest for family roots, the filmmaker travels to Ukraine seeking information on her maternal grandparents. In searching of her own Ukrainian identity and history, she discovers a country just opening up to a multiplicity of identities and cultural differences and discovers that Ukrainians have varied and surprising views on feminism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and basic human rights.
