a| In this installment of the acclaimed Frank Capra series "Why We Fight!," the director undertakes a detailed examination of the execution and planning of the Operation Acrobat, an Allied operation that paved the way for the subsequent defeat of Germany in North Africa. The series were commisionedby Army Chief of Staff General Marshall and were initially meant to explain the policy of the U.S. government to freshly recruited soldiers ready to be dispacthed to the battlefields of Europe, North Africa or the Far East. Eventually the "Why We Fight" series was shown to the public in theaters and prints were distributed to American allies in England and the Soviet Union as well. Although designed as a typical documentary film like other parts of the series, "Tunisian Victory" is an intersting example of war-time American propaganda and a good source of newsreels and film footage of the period.
