On the way, many are kidnapped by Bedouin smugglers and taken to camps where they are tortured, raped and forced to call their relatives begging for ransom for their release. The film follows Meron Estefanos, an Eritrean journalist-activist living in Sweden. On her radio program she talks to both the hostages in the camps and records their pleas for help, as well as talking to their family members who are trying to raise the money for their release. The refugees who made it to Israel join forces with Meron in a desperate attempt to save their loved ones. The journalist travels to Israel and to the Sinai desert, close to the places where the refugees are held all the while tracking the fate of Hariti, who was kidnapped during the journey with her husband. The film presents a harrowing testimony about the current situation of African refugees, a story the media has so far ignored. 542 |fCopyright by Trabelsi Productions 580 Verzio Film Festival Submission 655 4 Documentary films 260 Israel : |bTrabelsi, Osnat ; Cahlon, Galit, |c2013. 041 hebara |jeng 952 |00 |10 |40 |50 |70 |8FL |993445FL |bFL |d2016-11-25 |l0 |r2016-11-25 |w2016-11-25 |yDVD-ROM 952 |00 |10 |2ddc |40 |6FL_RECORD_3389_000000000000000 |70 |8FL |9150679FL |bFL |d2021-11-04 |l0 |oFL Record 3389 |pHU_OSA_00005064.mp4 |r2021-11-04 |w2021-11-04 |yDIGIFILM |zAccess Copy, MP4 format |cAudio Visual 920 01 2oWbPMev 966 True |bHU_OSA_00005064 |cDigitally Anywhere / With Registration
