Contents/Summary
- Summary
- Between September 2001 and autumn 2003, Chris Marker returns to the street of Paris he had filmed in The Lovely Month of May (1963). He is guided by Monsieur Chat, a facetious tomcat, grandson of Alice and nephew of Miyazaki, who plasters his malicious grin over the walls and roofs of the French capital. This treasure hunt leads us from the French presidential campaign of 2002 to the headscarf debate, the war in Iraq, and the entertainment industry crisis, accompanied by the jokes of Mr. Raffarin. Through this documentary, Marker multiplies the digressions and the veiled references aided by his virtual but providential companion who appears and vanishes as the occasion demands.
