When the Berlin Wall came down, the idea of separation walls was dismissed as something from the past. The reality is exactly the opposite, there have never been so many walls. There are thousands of kilometers of fences, gates, barbed wire and barriers in the most distant and dissimilar parts of the world. This film tells the stories of people living on both sides of these walls. The United States and Mexico, Zimbabwe and South Africa, India and Bangladesh, and Spain with Morocco, 'Walls' illustrates these bordering nations and the walls that separate them. The film highlights eight personal accounts from those directly affected by the physical barrier. They are intimate stories that show us that despite what side of the fence we fall on, we all share the same hopes, fears, thoughts and emotions, and the same desire to live with dignity.
