Summary
Jób and his wife, Róza, live in a village along the Tisza as wealthy farmers. The aging Jewish couple, after burying their seven children, adopts a blonde, Christian little boy from an orphanage in a nearby town. They want to leave all that they have accumulated throughout their lives in faith, humanity, and material possessions to Lackó, and he is the hope who can wait for the Messiah in exchange for the coming redemption. We are in year 1943, and Jób already knows his sad ending. They still have a year to teach Lackó everything that is important to them and secure their future...
