However, there is little contact or understanding between the Hong Kong Chinese and the ‘foreigners’. “Invisible Women” takes a look at the life of three Indian women in Hong Kong, in 1999. Vandana, an outspoken young barrister, was born and raised in Hong Kong. Preeti and Rehka, two young women from Bombay, came to work as domestics. These three women's backgrounds and experiences are very different. However, as Indians, they are all treated by mainstream society as "others". By documenting their lives this film addresses issues of gender inequality, unemployment, differentiated salaries, and the need for education and work opportunities. 580 Verzio Film Festival Submission 655 4 Documentary films 260 Hong Kong : |bSham Shui Po Community Association, |c1999. 041 engmar |jeng |jzho 952 |00 |10 |40 |50 |70 |8FL |992171FL |bFL |d2016-11-25 |l0 |r2016-11-25 |w2016-11-25 |yDVD-ROM 952 |00 |10 |2ddc |40 |6FL_RECORD_2198_000000000000000 |70 |8FL |9148279FL |bFL |d2019-04-17 |l0 |oFL Record 2198 |pHU_OSA_00003852.mp4 |r2021-11-04 |w2019-04-17 |yDIGIFILM |zAccess Copy, MP4 format |cAudio Visual 920 01 6Ywn1BX3 966 True |bHU_OSA_00003852 |cDigitally Anywhere / With Registration
