Zimbabwean women of all ages, targeted for their political affiliations, were abducted from their workplaces and homes, raped, tortured, and beaten in secret torture centers. It is estimated that from May to July, state-sanctioned groups raped over 2,000 women and girls. Women in Zimbabwe have historically been subjected to violence in response to involvement in elections or other political activities. Local authorities and national leaders have been unresponsive to local and international demands for an end to this violence. “Hear Us” features four of these women, who have come forward to demand justice from the Zimbabwean government and the Southern African Development Community. 580 Verzio Film Festival Submission 655 4 Documentary films 260 United States : |bRAU ; Witness, |c2009. 041 snande |jeng 952 |00 |10 |40 |50 |70 |8FL |991971FL |bFL |d2016-11-25 |l0 |r2016-11-25 |w2016-11-25 |yDVD-ROM 952 |00 |10 |2ddc |40 |6FL_RECORD_2000_000000000000000 |70 |8FL |9147895FL |bFL |d2020-12-01 |l0 |oFL Record 2000 |pHU_OSA_00003660.mp4 |r2021-11-04 |w2020-12-01 |yDIGIFILM |zAccess Copy, MP4 format |cAudio Visual 920 01 6YwngrX3 966 True |bHU_OSA_00003660 |cDigitally Anywhere / With Registration
