‘A Double Life’ illustrates an intimate portrait of a wealthy man, named Tom de Booij, who has dedicated his life to human rights explorations. He attempts to cease the demolition of a Traveler’s caravan and is arrested, but once home, he plays golf in his villa garden. Director, Ruud Bakker, questions what drives de Booij as we follow him as he champions the cause of the Traveler community in their fight against the Dutch state. We learn of his radicalisation in the 1960's, but only begin to understand his sense of morality as a trauma from World War II is explained.
