- The black and white prints of RFE/RL were donated to OSA by the Hoover Institute, California in year 2015. The images are duplicates of those held at Hoover. The originals, and most probably the negatives are with the donor as well. OSA only received the paper prints with captions, and digitized the entire collection in year 2018.

ORIGINAL CAPTION:
Munich -- Richard Carlson (right), Director of the Voice of America, with Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Executive Vice President William Marsh (left) and Engineering Deputy Director Varick Steele during a visit to the Radio's Munich headquarters on Oct. 23, 1987. Mr. Carlson toured the Radio and was briefed on its operations. Here he is in RFE/RL's new Master Control, the technical heart of the Radio.
