Summary
First part of a film about the life and death of Iqbal Masih, murdered human rights activist and former bonded child slave in the Pakistani carpet industry. He won the international acclaim for his outspoken defense of children's rights in Pakistan before his murder in 1995. “Death of the Slaveboy (Part One)” tells his story and how he stood up and struggled for all children around the world by forcing governments to ban child labour. More generally, the film looks at Pakistan's system of child labor and the movement to abolish it.
