However, as busloads of newcomers begin chasing the American Dream, they step into the stark reality of slim work prospects and nowhere to sleep. Pastor Jay Reinke from the Concordia Lutheran Church tries to create some decent living conditions for the migrant workers. Night after night, he converts his church into a makeshift dormitory and counseling center, opening the church’s doors to allow the “overnighters” (as he calls them) to stay for a night, a week or longer. They sleep on the floor, in the pews and in their cars in the church parking lot. Many who take shelter with Pastor Reinke are living on the fringes of society with checkered pasts, and their presence starts affecting the small community. The church's congregants begin expressing their displeasure forcing the pastor to make a decision which leads to profound consequences that he never imagined. 542 |fCopyright by Mile End Films 580 Verzio Film Festival Submission 655 4 Documentary films 260 United States : |bMoss, Jesse ; McBaine, Amanda, |c2013. 041 eng |jhun 952 |00 |10 |40 |50 |70 |8FL |993452FL |bFL |d2016-11-25 |l0 |r2016-11-25 |w2016-11-25 |yDVD-ROM 952 |00 |10 |2ddc |40 |6FL_RECORD_3396_000000000000000 |70 |8FL |9150691FL |bFL |d2019-10-08 |l0 |oFL Record 3396 |pHU_OSA_00005071.mp4 |r2021-11-04 |w2019-10-08 |yDIGIFILM |zAccess Copy, MP4 format |cAudio Visual 920 01 BX98gWok 966 True |bHU_OSA_00005071 |cDigitally Anywhere / With Registration
