- Teenager Party was designed to make fun of the RFE programs. It had the exact opposite effect at home than the creators of the film wanted. Aside from the fact that critics also accepted the film with reservations, the audience literally boycotted it. For weeks it was screened in front of empty seats, until they finally began organizing collective film visits to schools and workplaces on central instructions.
