- Mrs. Alexandre is an elderly bourgeois lady. She is a bit unorthodox, however, as she welcomes friends in her Parisian apartment for Hebrew worship, and lodges a crafty young man in her late husband's bedroom. She tells the story of her emancipation from societal normalcy, her relationships with men, and French society in the 50s.
