A film about the Togolese circumcision ritual Itchombi. Déou, a Togolese student living in Dakar, returns home (following the wishes of his father) to undergo the traditional circumcision ceremony. To protect himself against possible contamination by AIDS or other sexually transmissible diseases, Déou asks that measures of hygiene be respected. How will this request be perceived by other members of the community? Can Déou be initiated and become a man amongst his family without fearing for his physical integrity?
