- In Magadan, a remote town at the edge of Siberia, many Gulag survivors still live close to the former camps where hundreds of thousands people died of hunger, cold, and exhaustion. These survivors, released after Stalin's death, remained in Magadan because they had nowhere else to go. In this film, they recall the horrors of the camps and life after survival.
