- Notes
- The black and white prints of RFE/RL were donated to OSA by the Hoover Institute, California in year 2015. The images are duplicates of those held at Hoover. The originals, and most probably the negatives are with the donor as well. OSA only received the paper prints with captions, and digitized the entire collection in year 2018.

- Contents Summary
- A man is squatting in front of a row of card file drawers. Some of the drawers are open. He holds the May 24, 1978 copy of Rudé Právo together with a card file in one hand and another card in his other hand. He is wearing casual office clothes. In the background another man is kneeling in an aisle of bookshelves.
The Research Institute of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty monitored not only its target countries' broadcast operations and their programs but also their printed press. To make the information gathered from these sources accessible for the analysts and editors working at the Radios, they have created keyword systems and were collecting and filing articles related to the various subjects from the 1950s till 1995. Thus RFE/RL created a thematically structured press clipping archives consisting of, inter alia, Subject Files and Biographical Files. The paper based hard copy of the press clipping archives, in hard copy is accessible at Blinken OSA Archives since 1995. Cf.
