Contents/Summary

Summary
In 1938 Karl Pfeifer flees with his family from Austria as a ten-year-old, first to Hungary. Four years later, he reached Palestine with one of Hashomer Hatzair's last child transports. He lives in the kibbutz, fights in the Israeli War of Independence and returns to Austria in the early 1950s. "Arriving in Austria, he had to go to the state police where he was told that repatriation was only for Wehrmacht soldiers or members of the Waffen SS." This movie accompanies Karl Pfeifer as he revisits key places in his journey through life. Places where he was exposed to anti-Semitic attacks. Places where he sharpened his political attitudes. However, following one's ways in life also means following the paths and entanglements of Austrian anti-Semitism.
