a| This film chronicles the final days of Martin Luther King Jr. as seen through the eyes of one of the last surviving witnesses. On April 4, 1968, Revered Samuel “Billy” Kyles stood beside Dr. King, Jr. on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee and bore witness to his assassination. Through Rev. Kyles’ recollections this film tells of the circumstances leading up to the Memphis trip, and takes us inside the last hours of Dr. King’s life. With moving testimony from civil rights activists such as Maxine Smith and Dr. Benjamin Hooks as well as other contemporaries of Dr. King, the film is a poignant retelling of a crucial turning point in the civil rights movement and a reminder of Dr. King’s impact on the movement.
