This material must be stored for thousands of years in a safe place so as not to harm humans or the environment. However, such a repository has yet to be created and the production of nuclear waste continues unabated. Swiss-based nuclear physicist and repository specialist, Charles McCombie introduces the director to the persistent struggle to find the safest place on earth. On this quest the director travels around the world encountering a diverse range of people and places – including a heavily populated area in Switzerland, a nomadic family in the Chinese Gobi Desert, a sacred mountain in an Indian reserve contaminated by nuclear waste, and he encounters demonstrators in Gorleben’s forest in Germany. The film casts doubt on our established views of the world and explores the limits of knowledge and social responsibility. Over the course of the film it becomes clear that there is no quick fix to this conflict. 580 Verzio Film Festival Submission 655 4 Documentary films 260 Switzerland : |bBundi, Hercli, |c2013. 041 deuengcmnjpn |jeng 952 |00 |10 |40 |50 |70 |8FL |993468FL |bFL |d2016-11-25 |l0 |r2016-11-25 |w2016-11-25 |yDVD-ROM 952 |00 |10 |2ddc |40 |6FL_RECORD_3412_000000000000000 |70 |8FL |9150721FL |bFL |d2021-11-04 |l0 |oFL Record 3412 |pHU_OSA_00005086.mp4 |r2021-11-04 |w2021-11-04 |yDIGIFILM |zAccess Copy, MP4 format |cAudio Visual 920 01 KXMa0xX7 966 True |bHU_OSA_00005086 |cDigitally Anywhere / With Registration
