In the eighties a small Austrian villager saw a TV report about the struggle of Vietnamese boat people. He decided to do something. He brought a young Vietnamese couple with a baby to his village, organized for them a home and work. The family was the filmmaker’s. In the past there was another helper, Ali, a former Malaysian police officer. Ali supported them with food and goods the father could sell. When they left the refugee camp Pulau Bidong, the parents promised to write. The address was lost and the family was not able to write.
