The film tells the story of General Joseph Kony and the boy soldiers of the rebel Lord’s Resistance Army in Northern Uganda. Guided by Paska Otto, a Ugandan - Canadian woman who was once a child soldier herself, the film shows the horrors of the child soldiers’ lives and the steps that are being taken to rehabilitate them, and to re-integrate them into a society they have terrorized for over 15 years. Paska herself, like all the child soldiers that were rescued, is on a journey of redemption and forgiveness to her home village in Acholiland, Northern Uganda. The film takes that journey with her, as well as with three other child soldiers and tries to understand the long-lasting effects of such a war on these children.
