- The Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw was a gift from Stalin, despised by the Polish public. After the new political system came to power, many wanted to tear the Palace down. It is still standing, however, with hundreds of offices, a theatre, concert hall, cinema and even a swimming pool. This building has become part of Warsaw’s story, and it is a reflection of Poland’s everyday life and history.
