- The “sapeurs” are a group of Congolese celebrities who epitomize the success and access to wealth shown in the West. But how do you pass for a rich man, when in reality you live in poverty? For them it is the notoriety and the way in which it is seen in the Congo. “Ghetto Millionaires” pushes us into a world of make-believe, where the dreams of a notoriety built in Europe, through sacrifices, are faced with the often disappointing and inevitably complicated return to Kinshasa.
