Summary
The German Reich School was established in Budapest in 1908 for the children of German, Austrian and Czech diplomats and merchants working in Budapest. The twelve grade co-educational school first functioned on Kálmán Street and then moved to Damjanich Street. After the First World War and following the dissolution of the Hungarian monarchy children of Hungarian nationality were able to attend too. The film features interviews with former students of the 'School of the Weimar Republic' and they tell its history from 1908 to 1944. The film features Arisztid Atkáry, Ernst Kleinschmidt, Beate Fütterer, Mária Fehérvári, Klári Horváth, Éva Kende, János Kornai, Sigmund Lust, Marianne Rényi, Tamás Sattler, and Éva Székely. DVD contains extra material: TV interview, making-off, archival footage, pictures of Dr. Sattler Tamás, film criticism, etc.
