The black and white prints of RFE/RL were donated to OSA by the Hoover Institute, California in year 2015. The images are duplicates of those held at Hoover. The originals, and most probably the negatives are with the donor as well. OSA only received the paper prints with captions, and digitized the entire collection in year 2018.

Except for the collection of East European newspapers in the Library of Congress, FEC's Research and Evaluation collection is the larges in the U.S., with consecutive issues dating back to 1950. The files hold over 3,000 categories of newspaper clippings, pamphlets and background information items. In 1959, this section handled approximately 7,600 inquiries. In addition, some 50 foreign-language news items and articles were translated into English. A unique service is provided by Research and Evaluation's Documentation Section which regularly receives and review 72 newspapers and 325 journals from Eastern Europe. It maintains a cumulative index to the contents of the publications, arranged by subject, covering significant articles and information contained in these newspapers and periodicals.
