Content and Structure

Scope and Content (Abstract)
This series contains chronologically arranged correspondence between the Secretariat of FEIE in Paris, the management, Western institutions and grantees. They highlight the everyday work of the Secretariat, signaling internal organizational issues with regard to the role of the Council of the Foundation or budget allocations, missing books which did not reach their destination, the work of coordinating publications such as conference proceedings, the mediation of different kinds of collaboration, invitations to grantees etc. They duplicate on onion-skin paper other documents from the collection, which constitute another type of entry, this time day by day (instead of case files), about the activities of FEIE (mainly letters sent by its Secretariat, represented by Roselyne Chenu and Annette Laborey). Thus, they convey a fragmented, though dynamic view of the multitude of operations organized by FEIE, as an organizer, but also as a mediating nexus of cultural networks. Although the letters refer to attached documents (reports, conference drafts etc.), the latter are not generally included in the series.
