Scope and Content (Abstract)

This series contains correspondence of the Foundation to various recipients, arranged by geographical and organizational destinations. Thus, the series contains a remarkable quantity of letters sent to or received from French partners, while another very substantial set of these documents is related to the Federal Republic of Germany and to Eastern Europe as well. Besides this classification, a part of the series consists of correspondence with ‘Foreign’ partners (arranged by year and alphabetically by the names of the partners). A separate part of the series encompasses correspondence with the Ford Foundation, the main sponsor of FEIE. At the end of the series, correspondence of Kurt Reiniger (President of the FEIE between 1975 and 1982) is placed.

The series is arranged alphabetically by countries of destination. According to the filing system of the FEIE, the series contains a remarkable part of letters sent to 'other' countries besides France, United States of America, etc. These are referred to as 'Foreign' countries. Within each group, the letters are arranged chronologically and alphabetically.
