Summary
Years ago Salina’s and Albert’s family escaped Chechnya. They are siblings who had to flee without knowing when - or if - they would see their home again. In Berlin, they underwent years of uncertainty but also hoped to be accepted as political refugees and to get permission to stay, which would make it possible to start working and to finally build up a normal life. This film follows the life of the family for two years; it shows what it means to fill your days with nothing but waiting and how difficult it is to not lose hope when you swing between metropolitan life and Islam, between great dreams and the tough reality of everyday life.
