In 1990 the headless and handless body of a female was found in the Westersingel Canal, right in the heart of Rotterdam. The identity of the woman was never established, and her killer was never found.In 2008 DNA samples lead to police to believe the identity of the female was Melissa Halstead, an American photomodel and photographer, who had gone missing in 1992.An exhumation was performed and a suspect was quickly located. The documentary follows police investigations in The Netherlands and UK for three years until the trial in London.
