- Notes
- The black and white prints of RFE/RL were donated to OSA by the Hoover Institute, California in year 2015. The images are duplicates of those held at Hoover. The originals, and most probably the negatives are with the donor as well. OSA only received the paper prints with captions, and digitized the entire collection in year 2018.

Subject: Photo of Astronaut Schirra
To: Field Staff Members
From: J. P. MacBean
In view of this week’s planned orbital flight by Astronaut Schirra, I thought that attached photo would be useful to you in local publicity. the picture was taken some time ago when the members of Project Mercury were interviewed by RFE reporters; but since RFE regularly schedules programs about the U.S. space achievements, the picture is not dated. RFE will, of course, give full coverage to Schirra’s flight.
When details of the flight are known, any information you feel will be helpful can be added to the bare caption attached.
