- Notes
- The black and white prints of RFE/RL were donated to OSA by the Hoover Institute, California in year 2015. The images are duplicates of those held at Hoover. The originals, and most probably the negatives are with the donor as well. OSA only received the paper prints with captions, and digitized the entire collection in year 2018.

ORIGINAL CAPTION:
Munich, West Germany - The 1978-79 Congressional appropriations for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty provided funding for eleven new 250-kilowatt transmitters to modernize technical equipment and to improve audibility in audience areas. The installation of four of these new transmitters was completed at Holzkirchen near Munich in the Fall of 1980. The remaining seven new transmitters are now under construction at Gloria in Portugal. Shown here is an overview of the new curtain antenna at Holzkirchen, including the transmitter site headquarters building.
