One of the ways in which the film looks for the truth is to facilitate a meeting between accused rapist Vincent Simmons, a black man who steadfastly maintains his innocence, and Karen and Sharon Sanders, the white twin sisters whom he allegedly raped twenty-two years earlier in Marksville, Louisiana. In the end, regardless of the efforts to look into the case, the film as well as the justice system fails to prove Simmons’ guilt or innocence, leaving him and the case in the same point where it has been two decades before. What the film manages to do however is to present a corrupt or markedly lax prosecution that was contemptuous of due process, clashing with an overburdened and largely disinterested defense. 580 Soros Documentary Fund 655 4 Documentary films 260 United States, |c1999. 041 eng 952 |00 |10 |40 |50 |70 |8FL |992588FL |bFL |d2016-11-25 |l0 |r2016-11-25 |w2016-11-25 |yDVD-ROM 952 |00 |10 |2ddc |40 |6FL_RECORD_2566_000000000000000 |70 |8FL |9148925FL |bFL |d2019-04-29 |l0 |oFL Record 2566 |pHU_OSA_00004181.mp4 |r2021-11-04 |w2019-04-29 |yDIGIFILM |zAccess Copy, MP4 format |cAudio Visual 920 01 VYBOBZe2 966 True |bHU_OSA_00004181 |cDigitally Anywhere / With Registration
