a| Manizha Adil, a criminal prosecutor, tells the story of women in Heart, Afghanistan. The prosecutor is an Afghan woman who studied law and became a crime investigator before the Taliban took over in the mid 90s. Under the Taliban regime she was house-bound but she resumed her position as a lawyer immediately after the 2001 regime change. Currently Manizha is involved in cases of domestic violence. She fights to support women’s rights, to diminish the gender inequalities in her society, and to change Afghan legislation.
