Contents/Summary

Summary
For the first time new methods for early warning and crisis mitigation, added to a new understanding between local governments and international organizations, have allowed the launching of a massive humanitarian action for the rescue. This intervention, funded by the EU and coordinated in the field by the Wfp, has been carried out during the year 2012 not only with the aim of preventing the effect of the food crisis but also with the long term objective of contributing in the building of a local resilience. While the humanitarian aid system is transforming itself together with the whole industrial economy of the western countries, the film tries to open new questions on the relations between the North and the South of the world through the accounts of the protagonists of this human chain, such as the beneficiaries of the aid themselves, within the affected populations, and the insiders of the helping machine.
