Contents/Summary

Summary
After 10 years, the director Arash T. Riahi returns to the Austrian asylum shelter for homeless women where he did his national service; several of the previous transient inhabitants are still there. Some are grappling with their fate while others have returned as volunteers or regular visitors. In one way or another, all of them have lost a home. The attention of others, therapy and the temporary community in the centre help them get back on their feet, but not always successfully. Their stories often combine domestic violence or acrimonious divorce with emigration or mental fragility. Johanna broke down in a marriage to a violent person. Sonja is trying to make contact with her estranged children and overcome isolation. Rula, who’s Syrian, would like to build a home with a new husband but encounters unexpected problems. The camera follows the women during friendly and therapeutic interviews and also accompanies them outside the asylum centre.
